Mixed foursomes in open week on Sunday at Shandon and I got my first hole in 1 at the 10th. 9 iron to about 8 feet past the pin and it spun back in to the hole. Played with my girl friend and we shot a 74 gross and got second place, a hole in 1 and 2 two's so a bit of money made there.
Been posting recently and posts not appearing and also some old posts disappeared??
73, 74,1 Over at Shandon on Saturday, 4 & 5 over last 2 outings at Kirkistown but it was windy and windy and wet on the other round so not too bad. Still in email contact with x Ryder cup player and bag still coming he has been busy ans should have it by the end of the month. My dad and brother who is disabled where in Liverpool for a hospital appointment and on the plane home they met some one who had an executive box at Anfield so he has invited them over and he is also going to get my brother to meet the players. They are going to see Liverpool v Fulham.
Some more signed photos from my emails. JB Holmes, Adam Scott, Nick Dougherty. And better still I have been promised a tour bag from an ex Ryder Cup Player, and Order of Merit winner, he is away working for a couple of weeks but will contact me when he comes back, have had several emails from him...let you know more in a couple of weeks.
73 at Kirkistown on Monday...OK and a 76 last week in a gale which the pro told me was very good for conditions!!
20 points over 9 holes in the winter league on Saturday.
Level par 70 on Sunday in our Sunday morning sweep at Shandon. Bogeyed the first, birdied the fifth and 16 straight pars for a level par 70 and won the sweep collecting ?18---YEEHAA.
73 round Kirkistown this morning, not my best but OK.
Snooker practice tonight and last round of the golf club snooker league tomorrow night so hope to finish on a win.
Good weekend for Liverpool F.C. as well!!
Double bogied the first (again), par 5 hit my tee shot out of bounds, but played the next 17 in 1 under so a good day at Kirkistown.
Beat on a black ball fight in the golf club c team snooker league last night, should have won.
Left for Kirkistown this morning at 7-15am but it was belting down with rain and windy so played a couple of frames of snooker and came home/
Some more signed photos came after my recent emails to golf pros. Boo Weekly, Ernie Els and an email from Ronan Rafferty telling me he won the scratch cup as an amateur at my home course Shandon Park and also promising to send some golf stuff to decorate my room.
Trying to get a part time job in Tesco to earn a little extra cash.
Sent more email requests to LPGA players so hopefully get some nice photos back!!
My dad has been putting up shelves in my room and posters etc so I emailed a host of golf pros to try and get posters for my wall. First success came yesterday when I got a signed characature from Peter Allis saying 'Good Luck Jonny, Keep Swinging' and then his signature. Well pleased with that and hopefully get some more soon.
Played Kikistown on Monday, temporary greens and freezing cold but managed a decent 3 over. So much snow and freezing fog about might be next week before get any golf again.
Yep 18 today and more presents opened at 8 this morning. Great Christmas which included membership of Kirkistown Golf Club, my bunker mentality gear a laptop and loads of other goodies. BM gear is great and been wearing it every day. Played golf just once at Kirkistown on 27th, shot 6 over but it was windy and cold so not too worried about the score.
New alloy wheels for my car for my birthday and out tonite with my girl and a few friends, Chris included who also plays at Shandon and Kirkistown and its his birthday today as well.
16 points over 9 on Saturday, apart from that no other golf over the past week or so. Bit of Christmas shopping and the another couple of days in bed sick again. Looking forward to Christmas now and maybe getting some good prezzies! Hope you all have alot of fun at Christmas!
Played Winter League at Shandon for the first time in a while. 18 points for 9 holes so not too bad. 17th at Shandon is a hard par 4, water all down the right and in front of the green. Trees down left. Hit my drive right into the river. Took off my socks and shoes and managed to get the ball forward out of the river about 130 yards up to the front of the green, and then got up and down for par...one of the all time great pars!!
Monday at Kirkistown 5 over. Not at my best, 1 over front nine, 4 over back.
Passed my driving test yesterday, at first attempt. Out and about now in my Clio stay out of my way....
Shot a 72, 3 over at Kirkistown on Wednesday, 2 under after nine, dropped shots on the back 9 into the breeze but reasonably happy, should have been better though.
bogey start!,Shandon closed Saturday and Sunday......duh!
Played 18 at Kirkistown on Monday started double bogey-par 5 first-hit one out of bounds, and then bogied the par 4 second (short but tough). Played the next 16 in 1 over for a reasonable 4 over in breezy conditions on a lynx course. Also got papers to join so hoping to persuade my dad to part with some money for fees. Maybe a Christmas present although not sure he sees the need for me belonging to two clubs but I think it is worth it especially for winter golf. Not sure if I am on Shandons c team tonight to play snooker in the golf clubs snooker league-should be on I think.

It's raining again and it is to get worse with floods forecast..no golf this weekend by the looks of it. Working at Shandon tomorrow night so at least I cab earn a few pounds.
If this weather keeps up I might move to Spain!
Saturday evening was prize distribution at Shandon and I was working. I received a plaque from the club for representing Ulster at under 18 in the Irish Inter Provincial Championships on July. I think it was done as a surprise for me, any way it was nice to get. Thats my fourth plaque from Shandon!
Only managed to get a few hours practice in this week. The weather has been bad and I don't feel great and am staying in bed today. Had to cancel my driving lesson today as well.
Forgot to mention I received my Level 1 coaching certificate this morning in the post, made me feel a little better. Nice to see it officially, looks good might post a picture of it!
Course open again but very wet, hit the ball OK again but scoring was not great. Lost 2 balls, one in the middle of the fairway!! Nearly fell in the river on 16 trying to play from the bank. Got out OK and thankfully dry as it was freezing here this morning.
Can't wait to get rid of this weather, really fed up..probably back to Kirkistown next week, at least it will be dry!
No not with my trusty Titlist but in my car! First time the instructor has taken me out in my own car as it is getting close to my test! Can't give date away as no one knows but me and family. Heading off for a bit of indoor practice now at Shandon. We have a great indoor swing room with video etc which we can use in winter and also when the David Leadbetter coaches come over. They come once a month and I take lessons with Stuart Clayton. Hope to get playing a bit more in the next few if weather improves.
Played Kirkistown Golf Course, a lynx course about 30 miles from Belfast. Played OK but windy conditions got the better of me and shot 6 over. Will probably play Kirkistown quite a bit over the winter and may join as a winter member. The Ulster Youths Championship is held there next April so its good practice for me. No play at Shandon today as course is closed.
Any one want to know about golf in Ireland it's jonnytaylorgolf@hotmail.co.uk
Attended a level 1 PGA coaching course at st Margaret's golf club in Dublin on Thurs and Fri!!! 8 others took part, 6 assistant pro's and one other amateur.
Was a great experience and I am now a competent level 1 PGA coach!!!
Had to go through a 2 day course of learning about the swing and how to teach young kids....then on Friday had to give a 15 minute chipping lesson to the rest of my group and explain the
technique, and play appropriate beneficial games for the kids...and the tutor tells the rest of the group to act up and cause problems during my session to see if I could handle
anything that might come up in a group session with young children...fortunately I was able to do this without any difficulty so passed the level 1. Our tutor then gave us evaluation sheets
that told us what we would need to improve on for when we take level 2 coaching...my main area for improvement is preparation and time keeping. Will look forward to doing the level 2 coaching course in the future!!!
Persuaded my dad to let me drive from Dublin home to Belfast after the PGA course. Normally a 2 hour drive but as I am not allowed on the motorway it took us nearly 4! Probably one of the longest Learner drives anyone has took.
No winter league golf this weekend as our course is closed......surprise-surprise! I am a past winner of our winter league with my mate Adam....I think we are the two youngest winners ever.
Hope to play Kirkistown, a lynx course on Monday morning (weather permitting) and will post how I get on....hopefully a sub par round!!!!
