    The road to RHODES :)

    Hey Guys and Gals

Well nothing to rave about in 2010 as of yet :( even though were 6 months in i have only played 2 competitive rounds of golf and a couple of pro-ams. The year just hasn't gone the way i wanted it to, and for some reason i have little love for golf right now.
My 2 competive rounds have both produced decent ball striking. . . . and putting disasters!! The game is so much more fustrating when you hit it well but you roll your potato poorly.

However things are looking up for the second half of the year. I right this blog on day 1 of the US Open at pebble, looks a decent track but to be fair has got nothing of Pitcheroak or should i say Pitcherjoke. . . . the real home of golf. (This is wear i mastered my Duck hook as a boy). England are due to play there 2nd game of the world cup tomorrow, although with Ireland cheated out i have no love for this game either, those stupid trumpet thingys in the crowd give me a reason not to watch it. . . .I wish England well :)

Holiday day booked with the lads, destination. . . . . .Faliraki Rhodes!! Its guna be a mental week where i can get away from everything. May the beer flow!!! Countdown has started :)

    Check you later

Ball Striker. . . .sNOw Joke!

    Hey BM lovers

In 2010 i have played 1 round of golf, that's just not good enough for a golf addict! Hopefully i will get a few more rounds in before the golf season starts!

The 1 time this year that i have played, turned out to be a cracker. Played with 2 older members that i know well at Royal Redditch, Played really well tee to green although i rolled my potato rubbish, but i supose that's just winter rust. At the end of the round 1 of the guys called me a ball striker, which for those that no me, is just a comedy comment haha! Never been called that before so i intend on milking this 1 for quite a while yet!

With no golf being played, alot of my attention is being put into my season opener, by that i mean the 1st outfit i will where to grace the course when the season begins. With all the new season stock coming in at work, the season opener changes daily, although i can confirm after much thought it has to be Bunker gear! The new stuff is ace, Im thinking that purple polo is a must. . .

    other news:
    - Aston Villa are flying, John Carew is god.

    -Still oncourse for Egypt :)

    - bunkerFEST, almost confirmed!

Will be back with better banter next time

    Dancing on ice

    Hey

Well doesn't look like golf is top of the agenda this month, with heavy snow covering pretty much everywhere, the belfry shop really is lacking some decent banter.

this years new years resolutions include:
    - to gain weight
    - to avoid 5 putting
    - to avoid obvious shop pranks (late arrival)

The end of 2009 saw a marathon stretch at work and an early night on new years eve, not what the doctor ordered. After an average christmas day, a very quiet boxing day at work ment we were left to find our own lunch instead of the usual excellent cantine cuisine , this resulted in a packet of mini popadoms and some gone off brown bread! Classic golfers diet!

Although golf in England looks like it's a long way off, the return of the PGA Tour on sky is very much welcomed. after getting over the debatable wardrobe issues of Geoffrey Ogilvy, i watched wall to wall golf in hawaii in which he defended his title wearing a pair of dwyers strides, few would have argued a worthy winner.

On a personal note, 2010 has got of to a decent start, on the eve of the collection of my hole in 1 car i write with a big smile on my face. Hello Mini! Having reached the next stage of ' Project Egypt ' things are starting to get exciting, 3 games away now. Hello Pyramids!

That's all for now, ohhhhhh by the way Ian Poulter came in the shop the other day, had some quality banter what a nice geuine guy! Ohhh wait there, that was just some sick prank from a colleague. There's a storm coming. . . . .

    Sun. . . .Sea. . . . and a 73

    Hello

Major apologies for not updating my profile for a while, with my golfing season coming to a close ive had little good news to report about.

However although the golfing season is over, i am still currently in the draw for a regional doubles tournament. The winning pair get to enjoy a week of tournament golf in Egypt, this is very much needed! Having won an epic quarter final match where we found ourselves 4 up with 4 to play, yet had to go to the 19th due to a couple of false handicap's, we now have 3 more matches to go. Fingers crossed.

Also a recent weekend away to play some links golf saw me conjure up a 73 around Aberdovey. I played steady golf from start to finish which is unusual for me, if only i could of rolled my potato a little better it could of been really special! Just goes to show what is capable after a long lay off.

I plan for another blog entry in a couple of weeks, with a couple of pro-ams coming up and the possibility of ireland going to the world cup there should be plenty of food for thought.

    Cheers

    Under the Radar. . .

What a month of up and downs.

My BM clothes have arrived safe and well, although as i havnt been playing much golf recently, ive only just started to get some good fashion combinations on the course :)

As far as memorable sporting moments go, this past month has had some absolute crackers! Tom Watson's performance at Turnberry was unberleivable Jeff! I had heard alot of great storys about Watson in the past, but never thought i would get to appreciate his talents because of the era he played in. How wrong i was! His performance at the open ment that i just HAD to go a see him the following week at Sunningdale.
Standing behind him on the range was very special, i watched a 40 minute warm up session that can only be described as surreal. Ball striking and overall class of the guy is just magic. Player, Norman, Faldo, Langer, the list was endless. However the real highlight was that i got to meet SkySports very own Wayne 'Radar' Reilly and had a picture with him. This now hangs pride of place on my wall.

Another mention has got to go to Usain Bolt. The 100 metres was impressive, but watching the 200 metres whilst eating my dinner blew me away. I didn't think 19.19 was humanly possible, and haven't shut up about the race ever since!

Personally my month of golf as been shocking. I became very ill after a night out with my buddys, and later found myself visitng hospital! I have something called Fragmyliagia, which has made me lose loads of weight, and its not like i had the weight to lose! Golf was definately not top of the agenda, but im on the mend now and lucking forward to playing some good stuff. . .

Finally ive been asked to play golf with Jonathon Wilkes, you know the guy who's best known for being Robbie Williams best mate?!! Let you know how it goes sometime next month!

    Unberleivable Jeff!!

    Hey

I am delighted to be a Bunker Mentality ambassador, and hope that some new funky gear will kick start my season and get me noticed on and off the course :)

With the British Open upon us, the ashes underway and the Tour De France almost complete, it's a great month for all sporting spectators. I hope that Paddy can make it a treble!

As far as my month has gone, i almost got the chance to play golf with Ricky Ponting. However a few unreliable sources later and i only got to meet the guy, he wasn't that exciting anyway :(

my golf has been nothing spectacular with no great scores being posted, just plodding along playing within my limits. i hope that with some dedication over the next few weeks i will see the my luck change and my scores go down.

I will post again when my new gear arrives

    For now. . . Ciao
