    Spring?

Temperatures are reaching two digits today! The last snow should be melting away and strong winds should help to evaporate all the water on the course.

With a little luck my home course should be open by the end of this week - last season the course wasn't closed at all.

I hope this will give me a chance of finding the right shape before the BunkerFest. I hope to see many of you there.

    Bunker Fest

I just booked my ticket for the Bunker Fest in May. It will be great to meet the folks behind the brand and hopefully also a lot of ambassadors.

Here in Denmark we're still fighter King Winther; there's about 2 feet of snow - I wonder how long it's going to take before we'll have some spring?

Keep yourself nice - and warm!

    Sunshine Tour

Well, Anders Hansen didn't quite make it for the victory in South African Open, but ended 3rd - enough to be the 1st European winner of the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit - congratulations.

The 2nd Dane in the finals, S?ren Hansen, ended T8 so it was a fine weekend to end the season for the danish golf aces.

    Christmas

Christmas is coming and it's great to be a golfer. Now it's the time where you have a chance of getting some nice presents - this year the folkes at Bunker Mentality have been generous with discounts - that's great.

It's been snowing in Denmark the last three days; on Wednesday we got more than 20 cm. of snow and on Thursday about the same quality, but also strong winds creating massive snow drifts. No chance of a round of golf this weekend!

It's time for indoor exercise though I have never seen an exercise program for golfers. I'm sure that they exists - maybe someone can give me a hint where to find it. Anyway I have to get fit as I'm attending the Lilleb?lt ?marathon in May 2010. It'll be my third ?marathon, but the two previsous ones were back in 1988!

Oh - and after the exercise I'll probably have time to watch the South African Open; Dane Anders Hansen is second in -9 after the first two rounds just two strokes after Pablo Martin. It'll be worth watching - they're both playing very well at the moment.

    The weekend

Well, the weather certainly wasn't the best the last weekend. Gales and rain showers on the very open links course of Gyldensteen made the score very low. For the first time this season I scored a 10 on a par 5! :-(

I wasn't cold thanks to the new Bunker Mentality warm up wind jacket; it's great for the season, warm, wind proof and a little rain is also not a problem. I also got the new bunker skull weekend bag and I must say that I'm very pleased with the quality which is much higher than I expected.

Today I played a round at my home course; I scored 34 stapleford points so I still close to a lower handicap. I'm hoping that I'll be able to have a new handicap later this week or next week othervise I think the weather will be too cold.

    I'll keep you posted.

    Weather

Hmmm, if you're watching the Dinhill Links and think it bad weather look at this: this weekend 2 - 3 October where I'm plying at Gyldensteen Golf with the juniors of Golfklubben Lilleb?lt, the weather forecast is grim; Saturday rain and strong wind (up to 40 knots) and Sunday many showers and the same strong wind.

The birdies have probably already flown.....

    Have a great weekend

    Season 2009 - so far

The 2009 season has been very good in Denmark, our pros on the European Tour have had their share of victories. Especially S?ren Hansen who finished 8T in The Open and 6T in US Open has had an impressive season so far.

After having had the same handicap for three years I've managed to lower it this year to 17.9. With the weather still being fine and several rounds with a Stapleford score over 33 there should be room for further improvement!

My oldest son, Villads, who's 10 also managed to pass all tests at the golf club to have his own handicap licence. Until now he could only play at the Pit & Put course, but now we're to play at the regular couse together - it's going to be great.

In the weekend 3 - 4 October we're going to play at Gyldensteen Golf; it's a new golf course from 2006 - well known (or feared) for it's 106 put bunkers.

    Keep yourself nice!
