Josh and I are playing The Roxburghe on Monday 12th in the grand final. We have decided to stay overnight as the whole shooting match is sponsored by Magners so would be a shame to waste the opportunity to get wasted for free!!!
Will be wearing my white skitch trousers to dazzle the opposition and look great at the same time. Will let you know how we have done.
Well done to fellow Bunker Ambassador John Gallagher, who made another cut on the Euro Pro Tour and would have placed even better if not for a poor last round. Keep plugging away John.
CRIEFF REGIONAL FINAL - REPORT
The Central Regional Final took place at Crieff Golf Club on Thursday 10th September, and although the
course had been closed two days previously due to rain, the sun shone all day and the course was
presented in excellent condition.
There were 41 teams present at the Regional Final from as far afield as St Boswells in the Borders to
Tobermory Golf Club from the Isle of Mull. All teams faced the tough uphill par 3 hole at the first to get
their round underway. The course was played off the Medal tees measuring almost 6,500 yards, and
with no run on the course it was a tough challenge for all the players. The weather was warm, which
made the half-way hut at the 11th tee serving Magners new Pear Cider very popular with all the groups.
In the second match out, Ryan Chapman and David Bangs from Glenrothes posted an excellent 4-under
par score of 67, and they remained the leaders in the clubhouse for most of the day, until their score
was equalled by Sandy McDonald and Stephen Mercer from St Andrews Golf Club - and with a better
back nine of 33, Sandy and Stephen finished as winners on the day.
Third place went to the father and son pairing from Aberfeldy - Gregor and David Carr, with a score of
68, and again they narrowly edged out the team from Abertay University, Joshua Clarke and Neil Pirie,
with a better back nine hole score.
This is the first year that the Magners Scottish Golf Clubs Championship has included University teams,
and it's great that one of those teams has qualified for the Grand Final.
The remaining two qualifiers from the Crieff Regional Final were the home pairing from Crieff Golf Club,
Craig White and Herbert Dreier, in 5th place, and the team from Dunblane New in 6th place, with scores
of 69 and 70 respectively.
Unfortunately the team from Lundin Golf Club also scored 70 – 1-under par – but were edged into 7th
place due to a higher back nine score.
The special prizes on the day were won by Chris Black from Scotscraig – Longest Drive at the 5th hole –
and by Tony Trayner from Ladybank – Nearest the Pin at the 17th hole.
So we qualified 4th and now onto the Roxburghe on Oct 12th.

Just dobbed in the Mizuno MP32s that have served so well over the last few years and got new Taylormade R7 TPs. They are great sticks and have added a good few yards onto each club. Will keep you updated on how they progress. Been playing a good few opens and had results at Forfar Mixed with Susan Jackson and Westhill with Josh Clarke. Keep the money rolling in!!
